Flood felt that the league's reserve clause in contracts violated federal laws and his rights, ultimately resulting in a suit against the league. Although Flood lost the suit, his efforts helped modify the reserve clause and inspired the 10/5 rule, which requires consent from certain players before trades. The Curt Flood Collection contains a copy of his lawsuit, correspondence regarding "The Baseball Network," signed photographs of St. Louis Cardinals and San Diego Padres players, a signed 1967 Cardinals dinner program, a program from the 20th Annual NAACP Image Awards, and a 1968 edition of Sports Illustrated that featured Flood on the cover. 0.3 cubic ft.
