 Abstract:  Bailey Controls was founded in 1916 by Ervin G. Bailey as the Bailey Meter Company. The business manufactured industrial meters and controls, first in Boston, Massachusetts, and later in Cleveland, Ohio. The Bailey Controls Collection consists of two VHS videocassettes, one entitled "PC-665 Project" and the other featuring a project produced by Young & Rubicom, dated 19 November 1992, which includes 14 segments on assorted topics, ranging from 15 to 30 minutes in length. 0.2 cubic ft.  Abstract:  Starting in the 1940s, the magazine Better Homes and Gardens sold blueprints and other directions for building homes. These plans and directions would allow the purchaser to work with a local architect and contractor on building their brand new home. The Better Homes & Gardens Five-Star Home Plan Collection contains one 5-sheet blueprint set for design number 2108, a three-bedroom ranch style home. Also included are a letter from Better Homes and Gardens discussing the local professionals who should be contacted regarding the work and a Specification Form which would assist the purchaser and contractor in conforming to Federal Housing Administration regulations.

 Abstract:  Broadsides were a popular medium of information in the 19th century. Printed in a wide variety of single sheet sizes, they were used to advertise products, services, sales and entertainments. They were also used to announce public events, political candidates and commemorative ceremonies. While broadsides are largely textual, many contain illustrations along with the text. The examples in the collection date primarily from the mid 19th century, but representative 18th and 20th century work is included. The collection is arranged by size, then by object ID number.

 Abstract:  Bruce Licher studied the letterpress printing process at the Women's Graphic Center in Los Angeles in 1982. Using these skills, he was able to create promotional materials and album packing for his band, Savage Republic, as well as other bands in the Los Angeles area. He later started Independent Project Press and Independent Project Records, both utilizing his letterpress skills to create artistic media packaging, stationery and cards, wine labels, book and magazine covers, and promotional postcards and posters. This collection contains five holiday and celebration cards, one wine label, four stamps books and sheets, five exhibition cards, one paperstock sample, seven business card samples, eight record sleeves (two for LPs, two for 10", and four for 7"), and four CD sleeves.
