 Abstract:  In 1978, Norman and Dorothy Snyder bought The Party Shop in Warsaw, Indiana, and in 1979 they expanded and purchased the Hallmark store next door. They added locations throughout the 1980s, and eventually the whole family became involved. In 1996 they moved into their newest location, a 12,000 square for shopping center location. Simultaneously, the Snyder opened their Hallmark Ornament Museum, where they showcased ornaments collected since 1978. Collecting continued until 2009, and the store remained open until 2019. The archival collection includes framed news clippings and prints showcasing the Snyder's, their museum, and some of the artists hosted at the store in the 1990s and early 2000s. Extent: 1.2 cubic ft. (3 boxes). The collection is open for research.
