 Abstract:  The Defense Contracts Department records series consists of files maintained by the Defense Contract Financial Administration Department, Controller's Office, Finance Division. The records document Department of Defense contract administration of Ford's maritime operations during World War II. Records include correspondence from Ford employees in the Traffic Import-Export Department in Edgewater, New Jersey; Traffic Department; and Marine Department. Files from the postwar period, circa 1947-1948, are predominantly from the Ford Navigation Company. Materials are arranged by subject.
