His middle name was derived from the Sarah Jordan Boarding House, where his family was living at the time due to his father's work at the museum. This collection contains a framed birth announcement from 26 May 1929, along with a photograph of Jordan at around 6 months old and a postcard for the boarding house.

 Abstract:  On 22 November 1963, Theodore Mecke was the Vice President of Public Affairs at Ford Motor Company. That day, news of President John F. Kennedy's assassination came across the wire, with the Dow Jones Co. updating the information as it became available. At the end of the day, Mr. Mecke retrieved the sheets from his waste basket, believing they were of historical significance. The John F. Kennedy Assassination Teletype Messages contains 61 broad sheet paper tape printouts, as well as the clipboard Mr. Mecke used to store them. The collection is open for research. 2 cubic ft. (4 boxes).
