| Abstract: | The calendar collection contains calendars in a variety of formats including those intended to be displayed on a wall or desk and those designed to be carried in a pocket. Many were produced as advertising pieces for individual companies or for specific products. Those represented repeatedly in the collection include Mrs. Winslow's Soothing Syrup, Hood's Sarsaparilla, E.W. Hoyt & Co., Tiffany & Co. Jewelers and Silversmiths and the Gale Research Co. Numerous insurance agents are represented with generic calendars on which they could imprint their contact information. Subjects of the calendar artwork include nature scenes, historic artwork, women, and cartoons representative of the time periods. | ||
