 Abstract:  John Chesnut was a colonel in the Revolutionary War who resided in Camden, South Carolina. Mr. Chesnut became the owner of the Mulberry Plantation just outside Camden and the property was passed down to one of his sons, James, a United States Senator before the Civil War. Included in the collection are records of business transactions, bills and receipts, and legal documents, such as wills and land indentures.
